Blackberry!

Yes! After much procastination, I have finally gotten my Blackberry!
Decided on Blackberry Gemini 8520.

Turning my back on Raine while hugging Elise, Clairecia and many other Blackberry users!
I'm SORRY!

But well, the features of this small little phone were totally AWESOME!

I mean, you would really have to try it before you know how fabulous those functions are!

I'll probably stick with Blackberry mobiles for the rest of my life.

For example,

1. Mobile contacts sync-ed with Facebook friends
(Your contact list will have their Facebook DP!)

2. Push Mail
(A very good function for people like me because I receive a lot of emails everyday)

3. Blackberry Messenger
(You'll seriously save a lot of sms with fellow Blackberry users, and another plus thing is, it shows whether the other party has already read your msg yet or not!)

4.Twitter/Facebook
(24/7 connected with these Social Media platforms!)

5. Trackpad
(Gemini 8520 has a Trackpad instead of a Trackball! It's so much responsive and easier to navigate then the usual Trackball!)

And many more!

Even though there are many other smart phones out there that possess similar features with a Blackberry, but in the end, they are still not comparable to a Blackberry!

Anyway,
I think it's time for me to play around with my new phone again!

Christmas is here again!

In a blink of eye, it's December again.

I didn't noticed Christmas is near til the other day when my Mum took out our Christmas tree from the store and started fixing it.

As usual, it's always the time for us to reflect back on the things that we've done throughout these eleven months of 2009. Blogging frequently has really helped me a lot with this task because it's just a click away from reading back all these past memories.

This would be the reason why I will never stop blogging again. well, at least not for now.

Just a moment ago, I had the most random thought of clearing my hard disk space while I was in the middle of a Dota match.

After the match ended, I started browsing through my Documents folder, deleting unnecessary files that were increasing taking up spaces in my laptop and then, I chanced upon these few Neoprints taken in Year 2008.

Taking Neoprints has been a craze since I was at the age of 12.

I remembered it as a small booth with Joysticks and few buttons where we could only choose 1 kind of frame and insert 1 sentence of letters.

It slowly evolved till what it is today, with super lots of frames and backgrounds for you to choose from and nonetheless, being able to DIY the designs by drawing it on a screen.

When human beings got bored of the limited designs the machine has, the craze died out.

Now, everywhere I walked, I always find someone holding a SLR camera.

Yes, This is the new craze.

People are demanding clearer photos now.

Of cause I do not deny the super good quality of photos that they produce but yes, this is a very expensive hobby and interest.

Not only for males, there is an increasing number of females regarding photography as a hobby too.

Even my close girlfriend, Raine, she is also very much into photography these days, bringing her SLR camera whenever she hangs out with us.

Of cause! like what she have mentioned, after she gotten her SLR camera, she noticed that she is appearing lesser and lesser in photographs because she's always the photographer.

This would perhaps be 1 of the reason why I'm not getting a SLR camera yet. hahaha!

Vic was mentioning to me the other that she wanted me to try out her culinary skills and in a few days time, I decided to went along with her and give it a try.

Carrefour was our first stop of the day and we got ourselves a trolley filled with food

These were the ingredients for the scrumptious meal.

After all the preparations and mess,

We came out with five mouthwatering dishes with the Salted egg yolk prawns (our fav) as the main focus of the day.

Eventually the Verdict was ;

Not too bad for an amateur cook, still edible. hahahh

All these birthday celebrations has been taking a toll on me but nonetheless, thanks a lot for all the wishes and presents and of cause, red packets hahah :)

This twenty-first birthday has been a memorable one for me !

Shall make it much simpler next year.

Well, what was the most interesting gift of all was the album done by Vic.

A list of our so called "adventures" we had together since the day we've met.

Counting back, that's was in 2001. 8 years back.

It's also heartfelt to know she didn't forget things that happened between us even though she has a very forgetful brain.

One of the places that I love dining at?

Jang Shou Korean Charcoal BBQ at Esplanade.

They never fail to fill my stomach with delicious food after a tiring day.

But of cause, be prepared to be smoked with the "nice" food scents from head to toe after your dinner!

They have a very limited list of dishes on the menu but of cause, with the Food Guru here, Do not worry.

I would definitely recommend you the best!

and that would surely include my favourite BBQ food!

Honey Pork Ribs!

(Do not be deceived by the photo that it look little! but yes, this little piece of meat here would surely fill the tummies of 2 persons! of cause, not forgetting that there will still be other dishes too.)

Even though busy with the task of eating,

Girls will surely never forget to take some photos hahaah!

Yes! After so many 21 year old celebrations throughout this whole entire year (partially because most of my friends were of the same age as me)

It's FINALLY my turn!

Had my Birthday celebration at Rebel (where M.O.S was previously located at).

It wasn't a very big event due to the fact that only a quarter of my friends do club but it was definitely a very enjoyable and fun night! (the other three quarters of my friends celebrated my birthdays by dining together)

P/S: Mummy surprised me with the thought of coming along too hahah!

Firstly, she mentioned that it's my 21st and she didn't want to miss the celebration.

Secondly, she wanted see how the clubs in Singapore have evolved to after her hiatus due to the fact that she is in Jakarta with my Dad most of the time. (Well she do clubs)

It was indeed very cheesy.

The Crazy and outrageous dance by Jacson.

The night ended with most of the group being only partially sober, including me.

Phew! I was lucky that I didn't got drunk with all those liquors!

And of cause, not forgetting a minor incident about a present of mine which went missing in the club. It wasn't very nice of that person who has stolen it but whatever! shall not hold grudges on those them!

After all, We just wanna have some fun time together!

I was away from Singapore for the past few weeks thus the reason why I was not on my MSN nor were there any updates on my blog.

Before I even landed in Singapore,

I was already being booked by Vic and Gary who decided to throw a pre-birthday celebration for me at one of my favourite steamboat hunts.

I love their "Yuan-Yang" Steamboat soup base!

It is also a MUST to order golden mushrooms and beef!

After the filling dinner, never forget their dessert.

Bangkok Trip 9th August 2009 - 12th August 2009

A picture speaks a thousand words.

Suvarnabhumi Airport upon reaching.

Stayed at Grand Diamond Hotel, next to Platinum Mall for the first time.
Was below my expectations even thou the fact that many Singaporeans stays at this hotel during their Bangkok trip.
Felt kinda disappointed. Will try other hotels when I'm back in Bangkok again the next time round :)

And they are so far, the only country I've seen a PINK taxi going around.

Ate KFC for the 1st meal of the trip, recommended by Dale and the others.
Well, Not bad, but spicy! Bangkok's KFC has this special dish of Thai Chicken rice on their menu and it taste quite different.
Should give it a try e next time round when you go on a holiday in Bangkok.

I've always loved this kind of decor. Super nice!

The Pets Section,
They were all so cute that I wanted to bring all of them back so badly but I can't!

A shrine infront of Centralworld where people pray for love.

Beautifully organized Yogurt Ice-creams. I don't even bear to order because I'm afraid the staffs will destroy it while scooping for me!

How FAR would you go?

Well, since young, I wasn’t a girl with any much obese or weight problems. As u can see in the pictures below, I’m just a simple girl. Perhaps a little bit chubby but just enough to keep myself warm, hehe.

All along, things were kinda fine until secondary school days especially Secondary 2!

That was when I became a tad too lazy. Gained a little bit more than the average puberty growth. It was a “dark period” in Secondary 2.

When I became very obedient and will go back home straight after school every single day. But that was also the period when I turned to FOOD! Hahahs.

My sweet tooth acted up and cravings for sweetened confectioneries heightened!

Kit Kat White was my Favourite during those days.

Remembered there was also once when Elise got plagued with the craze too (hiak hiak, of cause it's by me) and went down to the 7-11 store around the corner to get Kit Kat White at 3am in the morning. Ending up in hospital after that trip from a Car Accident was something we never thought would happen.

And then you realised, that was HOW MUCH we fell in love with that innocent looking yet ultra SINFUL Kit Kat White! Ok, we aren’t that crazy about it anymore now!

I never worried about being into TAF club because I was sure that I’m tall enough. My BMI was always in the safe green zone.

But still, I wasn’t satisfied with my body proportions!

My arms, tummy and thighs were too big! I never did like it at all!

That was when I felt that I need to get rid of my fats!

I’ve tried acupuncture slimming, eating pills and stuffs. Weight loss was only seen after the first few months but it didn’t maintain much. My weight stopped decreasing after a while and the whole routine bores me.

In the end, I managed to lose my weight much by a change of daily routines and eating habits, okay perhaps with additional stress.

But, IT WORKS!!

Losing weight was one issue, keeping my body firm and fit was another issue.

And then again for the past 1 year, with all the temptations of FOOOOOOD and Delicacies around me,

I gained weight AGAIN!

That is certainly what a girl would not want!

But as what we often say, “天无绝人之路”

I have been super busy with school, unpacking of luggage, packing of stocks and meeting up with my girls.

The lack of time for blogging was also partially due to the fact that I couldn't post any photos up because I've forgotten to bring my camera along!

Watched Public Enemies on yesterday.

I have to focus a lot so as to keep up on the pace of the story. It was not a bad movie but I didn't really like it due to the fact that Johnny Depp died so easily! I didn't really like the ending but he looks super cool in the movie even though the show was so 1930s, during the American Gangster Era. I always has this very distanced feeling of him in every of his movies.

Johnny Depp even got depression during filming because he was so engrossed into the role.
Leonardo DiCarprio was supposingly being chosen for the role but he rejected in the end.
Nevertheless, Johnny Depp did a great job with the role! 3 x Cheers for him!

I am not a fan of mushrooms at all but definitely *THUMBS UP* for this.

The night ended abruptly with thoughts running in my mind that it will be my turn in a few months time.

My house is shabby, but it is comfortable There is no end to wanting - after the Ferrari and the Birkin bag, what next?

In 2007, in an end-of-year message to the staff of the National Neuroscience Institute, I wrote: 'Whilst boom time in the public sector is never as booming as in the private sector, let us not forget that boom time is eventually followed by slump time. Slump time in the public sector is always less painful compared to the private sector.' Slump time has arrived with a bang.

While I worry about the poorer Singaporeans who will be hit hard, perhaps this recession has come at an opportune time for many of us. It will give us an incentive to reconsider our priorities in life.

Decades of the good life have made us soft. The wealthy especially, but also the middle class in Singapore, have had it so good for so long, what they once considered luxuries, they now think of as necessities. A mobile phone, for instance, is now a statement about who you are, not just a piece of equipment for communication. Hence many people buy the latest model though their existing mobile phones are still in perfect working order. A Mercedes-Benz is no longer adequate as a status symbol.

For millionaires who wish to show the world they have taste, a Ferrari or a Porsche is deemed more appropriate? The same attitude influences the choice of attire and accessories. I still find it hard to believe that there are people carrying handbags that cost more than thrice the monthly income of a bus driver, and many more times that of the foreign worker labouring in the hot sun, risking his life to construct luxury condominiums he will never have a chance to live in.

The media encourages and amplifies this ostentatious consumption. Perhaps it is good to encourage people to spend more because this will prevent the recession from getting worse. I am not an economist, but wasn't that the root cause of the current crisis - Americans spending more than they could afford to? I am not a particularly spiritual person. I don't believe in the supernatural and I don't think I have a soul that will survive my death.

But as I view the crass materialism around me, I am reminded of what my mother once told me: 'Suffering and deprivation is good for the soul.' My family is not poor, but we have been brought up to be frugal. My parents and I live in the same house that my paternal grandparents and their children moved into after World War II in 1945. It is a big house by today's standards, but it is simple - in fact, almost to the point of being shabby.

Those who see it for the first time are astonished that Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew's home is so humble. But it is a comfortable house, a home we have got used to. Though it does look shabby compared to the new mansions on our street, we are not bothered by the comparison? Most of the world and much of Singapore will lament the economic downturn. We have been told to tighten our belts.

There will undoubtedly be suffering, which we must try our best to ameliorate. But I personally think the hard times will hold a timely lesson for many Singaporeans, especially those born after 1970 who have never lived through difficult times.

No matter ho w poor you are in Singapore , the authorities and social groups do try to ensure you have shelter and food. Nobody starves in Singapore. Many of those who are currently living in mansions and enjoying a luxurious lifestyle will probably still be able to do so, even if they might have to downgrade from wines costing $20,000 a bottle to $10,000 a bottle. They would hardly notice the difference.

Being wealthy is not a sin. It cannot be in a capitalist market economy. Enjoying the fruits of one's own labour is one's prerogative and I have no right to chastise those who choose to live luxuriously. But if one is blinded by materialism, there would be no end to wanting and hankering. After the Ferrari, what next? An Aston Martin? After the Hermes Birkin handbag, what can one upgrade to? Neither an Aston Martin nor an Hermes Birkin can make us truly happy or contented. They are like dust, a fog obscuring the true meaning of life, and can be blown away in the twinkling of an eye?

When the end approaches and we look back on our lives, will we regret the latest mobile phone or luxury car that we did not acquire? Or would we prefer to die at peace with ourselves, knowing that we have lived lives filled with love, friendship and goodwill, that we have helped some of our fellow voyagers along the way and that we have tried our best to leave this world a slightly better place than how we found it?

We know which is the correct choice - and it is within our power to make that choice. In this new year, burdened as it is with the problems of the year that has just ended, let us again try to choose wisely. To a considerable degree, our happiness is within our own control, and we should not follow the herd blindly?

I’ve booked my tickets for my overseas trip in July.
Anticipating.
The previous trip out for me was to Jakarta in March.

For the current trip, location will not be disclosed. hahahas.

was muggling for it so hard.

a peep at what how tired and pityful i was when i was studying for it at Liang Court Macdonalds on last thursday. i fell asleep and honey took this pic. hahahahh.

books and notes! can you see that it's ultra thick and contains SO MANY WORDINGS?

took a day leave on friday. wanted to study for the upcoming exams. but sadly, nothing fruitful came out on that day.
Oh, and i wondered why would anyone wants to collect the cups that Macdonalds are giving out for free with every meal upsized. it doesn't look attractive to me in any ways! hahahs.
well, that is because i still love my personal mug ;)

did this in KL with Honey last year during our virgin Trip out of Singapore together :)

but well, i still did upsized my meal for the cup because Mr. Y didn't managed to get it the other day as it was out of stock at the Macdonalds we went to.
Anything attractive to it?

and Honey went to enquire on the different kinds of body massage available in Singapore.
I would seriously feel so pampered if anyone would to bring me go :)

Breaking up is hard to do, but trying to go from romantic to platonic—
which sounds like a sweet idea—only adds to the pain.

A young man I know, still in love with his girlfriend, tried to go along with her plea to remain friends after she told him that she wanted the freedom to see other men.
A couple of months later, she invited him to her birthday party.
In the course of the evening, while searching for a bathroom, he saw her through an open bedroom door passionately kissing another man.
Feeling deeply hurt and angry, he later confronted her, whereupon she retorted, "But we said we'd be friends."
The girlfriend's response seems lacking in empathy and concern—traits we usually associate with friendship—but one wonders whether the young man wasn't setting himself up for a fall in the first place.

Can't we be friends? It's an old refrain, ready-made for the one who wants out of a relationship to deliver to the one who doesn't.
Frank Sinatra gave it a permanent place in popular culture with the song "Can't We Be Friends?" (This is how the story ends / She's gonna turn me down and say / Can't we be just friends?) Sinatra, who never backed away from melancholy (at least in his music), understood a thing or two about mourning.

And mourning is the theme that matters here. Trying to be friends immediately following a breakup tends to prevent the rejected partner (and maybe both partners) from mourning the death of romantic love—from accepting its finality by suffering it all the way through.
As painful as this can be, it ultimately performs an essential function.

Behind the tears, mourning has silent work to do: It binds up the torn places where love was and gives them a chance to heal.
This is crucial, because falling in love carries us beyond our customary limits of self-expression into territory that puts our sense of self at risk.

Two people in love place much of themselves in each other's hands for safekeeping; that kind of interdependence is why the loss of an intimate partner entails the depressing experience of being left behind with a diminished sense of your own existence.
Grieving the end of a relationship is a gradual process of extracting the "I" from a vanishing "we."
It provides a way—the only way—to retrieve what you invested in a lover or spouse who has departed.
Mourning is like casting a line into dark waters and trying to reel in those parts of yourself that you surrendered to the relationship, before they, too, disappear.
Although friendship just after the split may offer temporary relief, it blocks the slow but necessary passage from loss to restoration of independence.

A number of years ago, I saw a patient who felt that her sex life was essentially over because she had suddenly been left by the man with whom she had experienced her first grand erotic passion.
She did everything she could to win him back—calling, sending gifts, even promising to change anything about herself that wasn't satisfying to him—all to no avail.
It took extensive work (and many tears) before she was able to see that the unparalleled sexiness she attributed to him was in fact the power of her own sexual desire.
At this point, his image began to lose its magnetism for her. What her experience suggests is that if you give in to mourning, unsettling though it may be, it will eventually finish its work.
Only then do you again become free to fully inhabit your present life and turn from a sorrowing fixation on the past to the exciting unknown of the future.

All human development entails suffering losses that need to be grieved.
At every stage of life, we are propelled beyond familiarity and security into a new situation: A baby's first steps mean that she will soon leave behind the comforting security of being carried.

A young adult going off to college feels the thrill of freedom but has to contend with homesickness. For all the important gains, there are also losses that bring up anxiety and sadness. Grief might be thought of as the growing pain of human development.

A child's love is really no different from dependence, and that equation haunts us to some degree all our lives. The residues of early dependence in all our intimacies play a large part in making the loss of love so hard to bear. Yet we all go through such loss, leaving behind a trail of casualties—outdated selves, broken promises, lovers we realize we chose for the wrong reasons.

Mourning these helps change what can seem like failures into wisdom. In learning how to grieve our losses, it doesn't help that American culture, with its emphasis on romantic love and happy endings, isn't very hospitable to mourning.
But when we enter into the deeper and more difficult stretches of loving, Hollywood can't shield us from the truth: All love stories come to an end, even those that last a lifetime. When loss hits us hard, it can be difficult to know what to do with it, or even how to bear it.

Many people in grief turn to antidepressants, which may reduce the pain but don't necessarily provide much by way of self-discovery.

Mourning teaches us how to accept the end of love and helps us start the process of feeling whole again.
True, the self you get back is never quite the same as the self you relinquished to your relationship; although wounds can heal, they leave scar tissue.

But there's more to gain than just surviving the breakup; there's also the possibility of becoming more than you were, more able to undertake the experience of love in its moments of sadness as well as joy. As with any art or skill, the only way grieving can be learned is through practice—whether we like it or not.

Yep, they have finally came back to Singapore after 1year plus.
I had a veh nice and fruitful dinner with them :)

I chanced upon this story from the net and i decided to post this to share with everyone. I believed some of you might have read it before but it's just sounded so meaningful to me. Perhaps maybe you can read it again, to remind yourself the message in it.

My husband was an engineer. Since I met him, he was always an unflappable rock in my life. I knew he always had his feet firmly planted on the ground, and it seemed that no matter what else went crazy, he would be the one constant.

Three years of romance, and two years of marriage later, I got tired. He was the most unromantic man I know. He never bought me flowers, he never surprised me, and nothing changed in our marriage.

After some time, I finally found the courage to tell him that I wanted to leave him. He just sat there, speechless. My heart froze... what kind of man was I married to that didn't even know what to say to make me stay?

After a while, he spoke, "What can I do to change your mind?". "I will stay if you can give me a good answer to this question," I replied coldly. "If I asked for a flower that grew on a cliff, and you knew that getting it for me means certain death, would you get it for me?".
His face grew troubled. "Can I give you an answer tomorrow morning?" he asked. Hearing that kind of answer, my heart died. I knew that I could never be happy with a man who couldn't even give me a answer straight away.

There have been lots of dramatic changes in these past 2 months.
Lots on mentally of course. and was so occupied with my programs that i overlooked in updating.

I went Jakarta again from march 14 to 20 to attend a camp and the reviews for it?
Absolutely Fabulous
Won't be able to reveal much thou, but it's worth a trip for you guys out there!
You will learn hell lots of stuffs which you will never get to learn from the environment out there.

Next, started much on my driving lessons.
I can do parallel parking and U-turns! *smirks
Looking forward to my TP on 10th July.

Started my diploma in Marketing Management.
Have not been touching anything regarding studies for the past 4 years.
Wondered would I be able to cope with it.

I was stil at 39deg when I went to see the doctor at 7pm.
Imagined I was already having fever since 7am.

1. i will tell him (strongly believed that being straight to e point do works somehow)

it's DAMN NICE! i fully recommend you to try! :)
especially the Olive Pork Ribs with Honey ! wrapping it with lettuce and rice together with some toppings like onions and chilli sauce.

the kimchi soup taste great too!
and their customer service is also very gd, the waitress there will help you bbq the meat, and so you don't have to worry about getting ur hands on it :)

Rain even left his signed poster at the restaurant.

the 3 of us ate till $107.70, but it's damn filling. i think e amount of food we ordered could fill 5 person's stomache.

a big turning point of my life. finally decided on a big decision.
was down for 2 weeks with stomach flu. worst month of e year.

went Genting/KL with honey, yongwei and jerry! our first overseas trip together.
really had lots of fun together with them.

went Jakarta for 1 month too (:

went Bali with my family and spent a very very meaningful trip with them.
came bck to SG after 1 month too and shifted to my new hse.

started work, this month was just work, eat, play and work. (:
reunion w berlinda too! (:

went with honey to bangkok!
did teeth whitening there. spent quite a lot in bangkok too but it's all worth it (:

birthday month. finally managed to celebrate it with my loved ones.

had a belated birthday celebration with my school cliques together with kevin's and raine's birthday.

wasnt feeling very well in the morning when i woke up, had a bad flu and headache.
rested until in the evening, when i decided to meet my frens for a dinner at sakae sushi. hehehs.
loves the steam egg. but sakae sushi's standard drop damn lots.
felt so cheated paying the service charge for nothing. i had to wait for like 15-30mins before the waiters/waitress saw me wanting to make an order.

came bck from bali.
the scenery there is superb. it's so amazing and nice.
totally awesome!
so natural.. so enchanting.
when u see the sunset there at tanah lot. omg man! u will never ever forget!
it will be even good if there was no one. but only me there, enjoying the scenery.

love it much. i wanna go there again. =)))

the culture there is so different from jkt. the uniqueness of the statues and buildings. and how they really respect their PURA that no such buildings in bali is to be ever build higher den 4th floor.
never to be higher then their PURA.

my com went down the past few weeks and was busy so i dint have time to update. =(
met up with vic on 15june for dinner at fish&co.

after that we shop around at bugis. had a fun day. =))

met up with clairecia and michelle on 18june to do up our hair.
all of us rebonded. =)) was a nice and worthy time spent on the hair because the results were great.
alice was supposed to have an interview the nxt day and we accompanied her around bugis to get a set of clothes for the interview.
after that brenda came along n we went for dinner at V8 cafe.
had our laughs there reminiscing the past of 4/7.

went genting during the trip too.
had a really nice trip there. =)) went to take a look at the KL zouk. not bad. maybe a lil bit smaller. but the drinks were cheaper of cos. hahas.
the shopping was bad though. not very gd. but met up with raine at KL and felt great abt it =))
missed her alot.
last but not least, thanks yongwei and dejun for accompanying us for the trip too.
